SEASONS OF LIFE So many seasons are there in life, And yet we never did realize, How quickly they all seemed to pass by, A young child to a lovely bride A mother to an old maid. Yet we never did realize, That our time just seemed to fly. In the first season, spring – a young child bursts forth, Dancing and frolicking like a lamb from her birth. Knowing no cares and pains of this troubled world, She was surrounded by happiness and joy that’s the byword. And as time goes by, we again do see, The future of this child to be, The beautiful and tearful bride going down that aisle, And then she soon settles down as cheery and bonny wife. And then as a mother – the summer season, She instructs each daughter and son. She gives them the key to life’s heavenly store, And learns to love, care and forgive as never before. And lo! Before she could put the crib away, A handsome groom, her baby boy she did behold and sway. The autumn season that life had put in her way, Had come so quickly like within a day. Then soon as her time began to wane, She grew frail and began to fade. And in winter season, as she thought of the many seasons she went through, And of the knowledge, along the years, she withdrew, She smiled and praised the Almighty above, And then gave up her spirit with a prayer of love.
